I had been told about the GRFF 1 minute film competition and this is the first year I remembered to sign up in advance.  I did not plan on making it a huge thing and just filming something with my kids.  Emerson has been flighty in the past about participation and wanted to quit midway through.  She committed to participating this year and I trusted her.   ​I wrote a quick story about people moving from Chicago to Grand Rapids to escape danger and the twist at the end being that they are the danger.  This story would be tough to edit down to a minute and it didn’t fit well with the assigned elements.  The assigned elements were a forest, bubbles and the word “tarnish.”  After thinking about it I rewrote it and we read through it a few times at my computer.  I think this made her feel better about participation.  For the past 2 years my son Graydon has created a character and backstory for Naughty Ladybug.  The lore is so intense that it has become a lens that he views and processes the world through. Star power becomes a star curse for a collection of very vincible men.  FWF Pictures presents a Thriller short film made for the Kazoo Forty-Eight 2025  Required Elements: Mailbox, Pepper Shaker, Guy who laughs at the wrong times.  Line: "I'm pretty sure I saw that on the news!" When the crew steps down, a Charlie, Eric and Graydon thing is formed.  Very proud of this Thriller created for the 2025 Kazoo Film Project.  A nice day in the woods similar to "Daddy for a Good Time" but with a bit more focus and one less child involved. I did not mean to bring a full on video game character into this but I think it was a good use of me and moved us from point A to point B quickly.  Just sad I couldn't grow out my facial hair enough in time but I made the right choice not using a fake mustache.
